This growth was driven by virtually all major sectors of production. Production of other minerals increased 2.5-fold, output of metal ores rose by 26.3 per cent, and coal production by 6.2 per cent.
The production of construction materials showed the strongest growth. Production of natural sand increased 2.6-fold to 846,700 tonnes, whilst output of gravel, crushed stone and crushed rock rose 2.3-fold to 1.5 million tonnes.
Coal production over the five-month period totalled 1.6 million tonnes. Lignite production rose by 24.2 per cent to 1.3 million tonnes, whilst hard coal production fell by 24.4 per cent to 344,200 tonnes.
Meanwhile, the oil and gas sector recorded a decline. Crude oil production fell by 10.1 per cent to 99,700 tonnes, whilst natural gas production decreased by 4 per cent to 12 million cubic metres.
In May, production in the mining sector totalled 8 billion 272.4 million KGS, which is 6.4 per cent more than in May 2025.
