Bank revenues grew by 11.5 billion KGS. All thanks to loans and commissions

The financial sector of Kyrgyzstan remained stable in the first half of 2025, even with accelerating growth in expenses. The total profit of commercial banks, excluding unprofitable ones, reached 15 billion 999 million KGS. This is 2.7% higher than a year earlier.

The main source of growth was interest income on loans, which increased by almost 9.1 billion KGS. The second driver was commission income, which added another 2.4 billion KGS. Banks actively developed non-cash services, expanded their loan portfolios, and offered more transaction services to businesses and private clients.

The sector's total income grew by 20.8% to 66.6 billion KGS, while expenses increased by 28% to 50.6 billion KGS. Despite cost pressures, 20 out of 21 banks ended the half-year with a profit of 16 billion 425.1 million.

Commercial banks' performance indicators in the first half of the year:

  • Revenues — 55.1 billion in 2024, 66.6 billion in 2025;
  • Expenses — 39.6 billion KGS in 2024, 50.6 billion in 2025;
  • Profit minus loss — 15.6 billion KGS in 2024, 15.99 billion in 2025.

We would like to add that there are 21 commercial banks and 310 branches operating in Kyrgyzstan, employing about 23,000 people.
