03/20/2026, 17:00In Kyrgyzstan, the share of household expenditure in the gross domestic product continues to grow. According to the data, the figure rose from 75.4% in 2020 to 86.9% in 2024.
An analysis of the GDP structure shows that the share of private consumption also remains high — 95.4% in 2024. Meanwhile, government institutions account for 7.5%, and non-profit organisations serving households (NPOSH) for 1.0%.
Final consumption expenditure as a whole amounted to 102.0% of GDP in 2024, indicating sustained consumer activity among the population.
At the same time, changes are observed in the structure of savings: gross savings fell to 21.6% compared with 34.4% a year earlier. Gross fixed capital formation accounted for 23.3%, whilst the change in inventories of tangible current assets stood at 23.3%.
Net exports of goods and services remain negative, standing at -36.6%, due to imports exceeding exports. Exports in 2024 reached 46.8%, whilst imports stood at 83.3%.
Furthermore, the share of non-market services in actual final household consumption — such as education, healthcare and social security — fell to 9.1% in 2024, which is 3% lower than in 2020.
