03/20/2026, 13:17In Kyrgyzstan in 2024, the greatest increase in labour productivity compared to 2023 was recorded in a number of key sectors. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.
Construction led the way, with the figure rising by 25.8 per cent. Significant growth was also recorded in the hotel and restaurant sector – by 19.8 per cent – as well as in wholesale and retail trade, including the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles – by 13.2 per cent. In addition, growth was observed in the private household sector — by 12%.
At the same time, a decline in labour productivity was noted in a number of sectors. The sharpest fall was recorded in professional, scientific and technical activities — by 16.9%. A decline was also observed in the arts, entertainment and recreation sector — by 16.4%, as well as in health and social care — by 8.5%.
In 2024, the country is seeing mixed trends: growth in construction and the services sector, alongside a decline in certain professional and social sectors.
