Roads, schools, nurseries and stadiums: social facilities inspected in Bishkek

The Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Dzhunushaliyev, inspected the progress of construction and renovation work on social facilities, as well as the development of the capital’s road infrastructure.

The mayor inspected the construction of a nursery in the ‘Ak-Tilik’ residential estate on Ak-Shookum Street. Work is currently underway on the boiler room, and interior and exterior finishing works are being carried out.

On Ankara Street, the mayor inspected the construction of a pavement stretching from Auezov Street to 8th Street in the ‘Rukhiy-Muras’ residential estate. It will be 1 kilometre long.

The mayor also inspected the construction of a road along Shaty Street in the ‘Kara-Zhygach’ residential estate. The 616-metre section will connect Kara-Zhygach Street and Suban-Ata Street. The carriageway will be 7 metres wide, with pavements on both sides totalling 924 metres in length.

In addition, the mayor inspected the construction of a football complex at the junction of Kulanov and Sukhe-Bator Streets. The main stadium will have a capacity of 6,700 spectators and will meet FIFA Category III requirements. The complex will also include nine training pitches and a car park for 500 vehicles.

In the ‘Kok-Zhar’ residential area, Dzhunushaliyev inspected the construction of a road along Kumushaliyev Street. The section is over 300 metres long, with a carriageway width of 8 metres.

During the visit, the mayor also inspected the construction of a modern cultural centre. The three-storey building will house music and drama classrooms, an exhibition hall, a food court and multi-purpose spaces for cultural and community events. A car park will also be provided.
Separately, the mayor inspected the major refurbishment of Secondary School No. 69.

Demolition work is currently being finalised, whilst interior plastering is underway and the premises are being prepared for the installation of the screed. The façade is being insulated, followed by finishing work.

Following the inspection, the mayor instructed the relevant departments to step up monitoring of the quality and pace of work at all sites. He emphasised that particular attention should be paid not only to the development of road infrastructure but also to the comprehensive improvement of the surrounding areas.
