Road to Kyrchyn being upgraded ahead of the World Nomad Games

In the Issyk-Kul region, work is continuing on the reconstruction of the roads leading to the Kyrchyn area, where the 6th World Nomad Games are scheduled to take place. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan.

Work is underway on a 14-kilometre section of the Grigorievka–Kol-Kashka-Suu road. Contractors are currently preparing the road sub-base and constructing a bridge.

The project is being funded by state capital investment. In addition to the Grigorievka–Kol-Kashka-Suu section, the reconstruction covers 21 kilometres of the Semenovka–Ak-Suu road. The total length of the roads being upgraded is 34 kilometres.

According to the ministry, asphalt surfacing has already been laid on 18 kilometres of the route. Work is continuing on the remaining sections to lay the road sub-base and construct engineering structures.

The project is being carried out by Branch No. 7 of the state-owned enterprise ‘Kyrgyzavtozhol-Tunduk’.

The Ministry of Transport notes that the modernisation of the road infrastructure will improve transport accessibility to Kyrchyn, increase tourist numbers in the region and ensure high-quality logistics during the World Nomad Games.
