Dual education will be one of the key areas of educational reform in Kyrgyzstan

The regional stage of the National Pedagogical Forum took place in Karakol. One of the key themes of the event was the development of dual and specialised education as part of the reform of Kyrgyzstan’s education system.

Participants discussed the reforms currently underway in the country, changes for the new academic year, and pressing issues relating to the transition to a 12-year education model.
Particular attention was paid to the development of dual vocational training, which involves combining theoretical training at an educational institution with practical training directly in the workplace. This approach enables students to acquire professional skills whilst familiarising themselves with the demands of the labour market.

In addition, participants were provided with information on changes in the fields of pre-school, general, supplementary and vocational education, the updating of curricula and standards, the professional development of teachers, and new approaches to assessing the quality of education.

During the forum, discussions also centred on the provision of textbooks to schools, the development of digital educational resources, the introduction of specialised training, and the creation of a talent pool for leaders of educational organisations.

As part of the event, breakout sessions were held, during which participants, together with experts, examined current issues within the education system and discussed future directions for its development.
