Jalal-Abad, Chui and Osh are leaders in attracting concessional loans under Financing of Agriculture-13

In Kyrgyzstan, the implementation of the state program to support the agricultural sector “Financing of Agriculture - 13” continues. According to the data of the Ministry of Finance as of April 17, the greatest activity in obtaining soft loans is demonstrated by farmers of Jalal-Abad, Chui and Osh oblasts. These regions account for almost half of the total amount financed.

Jalal-Abad region is the undisputed leader, where 629 agricultural producers received 397.5 million KGS. This is more than 20% of the total volume of issued loans. Then come Chui and Osh oblasts, where 596 entities received credits for 363.5 million KGS and 513 entities for 307.4 million KGS respectively.

In total, 1 billion 926.32 million KGS were granted to 3 thousand 173 rural producers within the framework of FSH-13. The credits are distributed in the following areas:

• Livestock production - 1 billion 553.86 million KGS (2 thousand 517 applications);
• Crop production - 290.6 million KGS (609 applications);
• Water-saving technologies - 9.7 million KGS (12 applications);
• Leasing of agricultural machinery - 72.16 million KGS (35 applications).

The project is implemented through state-owned banks - “Aiyl Bank” and “Eldik Bank”. The total amount of financing is 5 billion KGS.

Other regions also participate in the program, but with smaller volumes:

• Issyk-Kul region - 288.38 million KGS;
• Naryn oblast - 228.41 million KGS;
• Talas oblast - 212.08 million KGS;
• Batken oblast - 129.07 million KGS.
