KSE outlines strategy for 2030 at capital forum in Issyk-Kul

These days, June 26–27, the XXI Eurasian Bond Congress and the I Capital Markets Forum are taking place in Issyk-Kul. One of the key events was a report by Aida Chodulova, Acting President of the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange, in which she presented the current state of the Kyrgyz stock market and strategic directions for its development until 2030.

In her speech, Aida Chodulova outlined the main priorities of the KSE. These include infrastructure modernization, expanding the range of issuers and investors, developing the secondary market, and launching new trading sections, including currency pair transactions. Particular emphasis was placed on the digitization of processes and integration with international platforms.

“The Kyrgyz Stock Exchange is currently undergoing a period of profound transformation,” said Aida Chodulova. "We see our task as creating a single, strong platform capable of accumulating investment, ensuring trading transparency, and becoming a driver of sustainable economic growth. The forum in Issyk-Kul is an opportunity for open dialogue with market participants and the development of joint solutions."

According to her, the exchange is already showing growth in key indicators. Trading volume at the end of 2024 reached $1.3 billion, and capitalization reached $1.6 billion. However, systemic challenges remain, including limited access for non-residents, an underdeveloped secondary market, a lack of institutional investors, and the absence of IPOs by strategic companies.

The presentation outlined specific measures being taken by the KSE in conjunction with the government and international partners. Specifically, with the support of the Eurasian Development Bank and the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, a large-scale project to modernize the exchange's IT infrastructure is being implemented.
