The EAEU is abolishing import duties on vegetables. Which products can be brought into Kyrgyzstan without additional charges?

The Eurasian Economic Commission has temporarily waived import duties on a number of vegetables. The decision is valid until 30 June 2026 and applies to supplies to member states, including Kyrgyzstan.

The following may be imported into the country duty-free:

  • potatoes — up to 50,000 tonnes
  • tomatoes — up to 5,000 tonnes (until 31 May 2026)
  • broccoli and cauliflower — up to 500 tonnes
  • cucumbers — up to 400 tonnes
  • aubergines — up to 200 tonnes
  • sweet peppers — up to 2,000 tonnes

The concession has been introduced against the backdrop of a seasonal vegetable shortage, when stocks of local produce are running low and prices begin to rise.

The EEC notes that the measure should increase market supply and make vegetables more affordable for consumers.

The decision will come into force 10 days after its official publication.
