05/12/2026, 10:29In January–February 2026, Kyrgyzstan saw a significant drop in exports of apples, pears and quinces. Shipments to Russia fell the most sharply, whilst exports to Uzbekistan generated considerably more revenue for the country, despite a decline in volumes.
In just two months, Kyrgyzstan exported 2,054.2 tonnes of fruit worth $522,900. Compared with last year, the volume of shipments fell by 48.6%, and revenue by 44.8%.
The sharpest decline occurred in exports to Russia. Shipments fell by 85.5% — from 1,179.7 tonnes to 171.2 tonnes. Export revenue fell by 85% — from $461,200 to $69,100.
Exports to Kazakhstan also declined. The volume of shipments fell by 38.4% — to 650.4 tonnes, whilst revenue dropped by 49.1% — to $211,500.
Uzbekistan remained the largest export market. Although the volume of exports there fell by 26.2% — from 1,760.9 to 1,299.1 tonnes — revenue, on the contrary, rose by 241.5% — from $70,400 to $240,400.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan began supplying fruit to Tajikistan. In January–February, exports amounted to 3.5 tonnes worth $2,000, whereas a year ago there were no supplies at all.
