05/14/2026, 13:48In January–February this year, Kyrgyzstan exported 6,100 tonnes of maize worth $552,100. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of shipments rose by 110%, and the value by 75%.
Uzbekistan remains the main export market. 5.8 thousand tonnes were supplied there, worth $465 thousand. Compared to last year, exports to this country rose by almost 48% in both volume and value.
Also in 2026, Kyrgyzstan began supplying maize to new destinations. 330.1 tonnes worth $66,400 were exported to Tajikistan, 6.8 tonnes worth $6,300 to Russia, and 5.5 tonnes worth $14,300 to Afghanistan.
The highest estimated price per tonne was recorded in Afghanistan – around $2,600 per tonne – although exports there are limited. In Russia, the figure stood at around $926 per tonne, and in Tajikistan at $201.
The bulk of exports at a more stable price comes from Uzbekistan, where the price remains at around $80 per tonne.
The growth in exports is linked to increased shipments to Uzbekistan and entry into new markets; however, the price structure shows a strong dependence on a single key market.
