10/02/2024, 07:51Eldar Alisherov, Minister of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission Eldar Alisherov held a working meeting with the heads of national statistical services of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union at the Third Eurasian Economic Forum. The discussion centred on the goals and key objectives of the strategic development of EAEU statistics until 2030.
Eldar Alisherov stressed the importance of making statistics meet the needs of users as much as possible, especially in light of the growing demand for analysing the functioning and development processes of the Union. He noted that to improve the quality and accessibility of statistics it is necessary to account for the rapid development of information technologies and the introduction of new data sources.
At the meeting, the heads of statistical services of the EAEU countries discussed long-term plans and proposed new directions for cooperation with the EEC. They paid special attention to the digitalisation of the statistical industry, which accompanies the implementation of the digital agenda both in the states of the association and within the EEC.
Following the meeting, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the level of partnership achieved and noted that the agreed steps in key areas will help to improve the harmonisation and comparability of official statistical information in the EAEU.
