Kyrgyzstan’s energy sector is owed nearly 2 billion som

As at 1 July 2026, overdue receivables from enterprises in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sector totalled 1.94 billion som. This is the highest figure among the sectors reported. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

Of this amount, 1.65 billion soms relate to debts within Kyrgyzstan, whilst a further 284.3 million soms relate to CIS countries.

By way of comparison, overdue receivables for the entire manufacturing sector totalled 1.36 billion soms.
