A seminar on improving school and pre-school nutrition was held in Bishkek. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, heads of educational organisations, local administrations, and representatives of the United Nations World Food Programme.

The Ministry of Education presented the results of the implementation of the programme ‘Optimisation of School Nutrition in the Kyrgyz Republic’ and outlined further steps for the 2025/26 academic year. Particular attention was paid to the launch of the 13th phase of the programme, which will cover 35 schools and 13 pilot pre-school educational institutions.

The workshop also included a discussion of planning, reporting and monitoring mechanisms, including through the MoDa digital tool, which will improve the transparency and effectiveness of programme implementation at all levels.

The event was an important step in strengthening inter-agency cooperation and ensuring the sustainable development of the nutrition system for all students and pupils in pre-school institutions in Kyrgyzstan.
