Edil Baisalov emphasised that the creation of a specialised agency has made it possible to concentrate resources and improve the efficiency of industry management. ‘The state provides systematic support for the development of sport, and the growth of the budget clearly demonstrates confidence in the sports industry and responsibility towards athletes,’ he said.
The implementation of the National Development Programme until 2030 remains an important area of focus. There are plans to expand mass physical education activities, modernise sports infrastructure, train Olympic reserves, develop women's sports and open sports clubs in schools.
Instructions have also been given to launch the Kyrgyz Centre for Sports and Health Medicine state enterprise, strengthen security at competitions, and digitise services in the sports sector.
In 2026, the country plans to host major international tournaments, including the Asian Wrestling Championships, the Central Asian Sailing Championships on Lake Issyk-Kul, and the next World Nomad Games. The relevant agencies have been tasked with preparing a comprehensive programme for the development of physical culture and sports until 2030.
