A tender has been announced on the government procurement portal for the supply of instruments, equipment, and consumables with a total value of 18.55 million KGS.
The bulk of the funds—10.02 million KGS—will be allocated to the purchase of modern meteorological instruments. The Hydrometeorological Service plans to purchase anemorumbometers, rain gauges, thermohygrometers, evaporimeters, and other equipment used to monitor weather and climatic processes.
One of the most expensive items in the tender will be 12 M63M-1 anemometer-compasses with a total cost of 4.23 million KGS. Thus, the price of a single device is approximately 352,800 KGS. These devices are designed for continuous measurement of wind speed and direction and are capable of recording air speeds of up to 60 meters per second.
A significant portion of the procurement also consists of equipment for snow depth observations. Specifically, the service intends to purchase 249 stationary M-103-1 snow depth gauges worth approximately 1.57 million KGS and 190 portable M-104-1 gauges for an additional 1.14 million KGS. These gauges are used to regularly measure snow depth at weather stations and hydrological stations.
In addition to the instruments, the Hydrometeorological Service will also purchase specialized consumables. Among them are 130 square meters of bleached batiste worth 132,600 KGS. This thin cotton fabric is used in psychrometers—devices used to determine air humidity.
