The head of the Cabinet of Ministers called the IT sector attractive for German investors.

Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev met with Michael Harms, Executive Director of the German Eastern Business Association, on the sidelines of the Kyrgyz-German Business Forum «German Economy Day in Kyrgyzstan» and the IV meeting of the Kyrgyz-German Business Council.

The head of the Cabinet noted that regular political dialogue at the highest level has been established between Kyrgyzstan and Germany, and economic contacts have been intensified. In this context, Adylbek Kasymaliyev pointed out that Germany is one of Kyrgyzstan's important trading partners.

According to him, since 2022, there has been an increase in trade turnover between the two countries and a threefold increase in investments from Germany. Between 2020 and 2024, Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with Germany increased almost fourfold.

"We believe that promising areas for investment by German companies are the IT sector, including the construction of data centres and logistics hubs, renewable energy sources, including research in the field of green hydrogen production, and the mining sector. Kyrgyzstan is ready to provide every possible support to German companies interested in implementing investment projects in our country," he said.

In turn, Michael Harms, Executive Director of the German Eastern Business Association, expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and warm welcome. He noted the importance of further work to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres and proposed the implementation of a number of specific mutually beneficial projects.
