07/01/2025, 16:26At a ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the State Tax Service, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev announced that the Tax Service and Customs Service would be removed from the structure of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.
«I recently informed the Chairman of the Tax Service, Almamet Shikmamatov, that we have made this decision», — said Adylbek Kasymaliyev.
The Chairman of the State Tax Service, Almamet Shikmamatov, emphasised that the staffing levels and powers of the services will remain unchanged.
However, the new management structure will ensure more effective interaction and will become an important part of the reform to reduce bureaucracy in state bodies.
«We will not have additional powers. We will have the same powers and the same staffing levels. But this will enable us to make decisions more effectively and quickly. This will, accordingly, increase our responsibility. And this is part of the reform being carried out on the instructions of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to reduce bureaucracy in government agencies. Now, by bypassing the Ministry of Finance, the Tax Service will make decisions, and the procedure will be accelerated. And this fits in perfectly with the reforms», — added Almanbet Shykmamatov, Chairman of the State Tax Service.
