The State Tax Service has reconsidered establishing a tax police force

The State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic has decided to withdraw the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on granting a separate division of the State Tax Service the status of a law enforcement agency with the function of an investigative body.

On 7 October 2025, the Tax Service submitted for public discussion a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic ‘On amendments to certain decisions of the Government and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of regulating the functions of tax authorities with law enforcement status’.

It should be noted that the draft was developed to implement Article 55 of the Tax Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Taking into account the public opinion received during the discussion, the State Tax Service decided to withdraw this draft.
