Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission Gohar Barseghyan spoke about the implementation of the agreed agro-industrial policy in the Eurasian Economic Union at the session of the International Grain Council on January 23 in London.

“In December 2024, the member states completed ratification of the Agreement on the rules of issue, circulation and redemption within the EAEU of warehouse certificates for agricultural products dated July 31, 2023. The document will enter into force on June 1, 2026 and is aimed at developing trade in agricultural products through the use of book-entry warehouse certificates, which will also serve as an incentive for digital transformation of economic processes in agriculture,” Gohar Barseghyan noted.

During the exchange of views the main attention was paid to the international grain market conditions, as well as national trade policies and measures taken by international organizations, which influence the demand and supply of grain in the world. In addition, emphasis was placed on the role of industry digitalization.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the International Grain Council has been in place since 2021.
