08/12/2026, 11:33The hosting of the UIM F1H2O World Powerboat Championship had no adverse impact on the environmental condition of Lake Issyk-Kul. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision.
The Kyrgyzstan Grand Prix took place from 31 July to 2 August 2026 in the village of Bayet in the Issyk-Kul region. During the competition, a special working group monitored compliance with environmental and technical requirements at the event site.
Experts inspected the water area, the mooring points for the racing boats, temporary garages, maintenance areas and the surrounding infrastructure. No spills of fuel or lubricants, nor any contamination of the soil or the shoreline, were detected.
To assess the potential impact of the competition on the lake, the Department of Environmental Monitoring took water samples on two occasions: on 30 July, before the start of the championship, and on 3 August, after it had concluded. The tests were carried out in the area of the pontoon used for mooring motorboats and directly on the race course.
The samples were analysed for key chemical parameters, including the content of petroleum products and dissolved oxygen. The analyses revealed no deterioration in water quality or any exceedances of the maximum permissible concentrations of pollutants.
Following the conclusion of the competition, the organisers and representatives of the Motorboat Federation were instructed to dismantle the temporary infrastructure, remove the equipment and restore the site to a satisfactory sanitary condition.
During the final inspection on 3 August, experts confirmed that the racing boats had already been loaded into containers and prepared for shipment to Europe. The championship venue had been cleared, and no signs of pollution or other environmental risks were identified.
