05/20/2026, 15:43From 20 May, three border crossing points on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border in the Batken region began operating 24 hours a day. The changes are linked to the start of the tourist season.
The checkpoints in question are ‘Kadamzhai’, ‘Chechme’ and ‘Ak-Kya’ on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek section of the border. According to the State Border Service, the 24-hour operation has been introduced to simplify border crossings and reduce congestion during periods of heavy traffic.
However, only citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will be able to cross at these checkpoints.
The new operating regime will remain in place until 1 October 2026.
