08/27/2026, 18:00Between January and June 2026, residents and companies in Kyrgyzstan took out 851,600 voluntary insurance policies. For this, they paid insurance companies 4.3 billion KGS.
It should be noted that 1.4 trillion KGS represents the total sum insured – that is, the extent of the insurance companies’ liability under the contracts concluded – rather than the amount of insurance premiums paid by customers.
Over the six-month period, there were 15,312 insurance claims. Insurance companies paid out 800.3 million KGS to customers.
People and companies insured their property the most. This accounted for 2.6 billion KGS in premiums. Of this, citizens paid 699 million KGS for property insurance and 447 million KGS for motor insurance. Companies spent 1.9 billion KGS on insuring their property.
Personal insurance generated 1.5 billion KGS for insurance companies. The majority of this amount – 1.3 billion KGS – came from accident and health insurance. Citizens also took out medical insurance and travel insurance.
A further 268.8 million KGS came from liability insurance. Under this type of insurance, companies paid out 17.2 million KGS to customers.
