• Official exchange rates for 28 August: the KGS has strengthened against almost all currencies

  The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has set the official exchange rates for foreign currencies for 28 August 2026. Compared with the rates on 27 August, the euro, the Russian rouble and the Kazakh tenge weakened against the KGS, whilst the Chinese yuan strengthened slightly. The US dollar exchange rate remained unchanged.

• The President has signed a decree on the liquidation of ‘Tunduk’

  The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, has signed a decree ‘On certain issues concerning the open joint-stock company “Tunduk”’. The document provides for the liquidation of OJSC “Tunduk” and the transfer of its functions to the state institution “Kyzmat” under the Presidential Administration.

• The National Bank has extended the authorisation for banks to export worn-out US dollar notes until March 2027

  The Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has extended the authorisation for commercial banks to export worn-out US dollar notes, as well as banknotes issued up to and including 2006, out of the country.
