Inflation in Kyrgyzstan Nearly Doubled the National Bank’s Target

Annual inflation in Kyrgyzstan reached 9.5% as of the end of August 2025, which is significantly higher than the National Bank’s target range of 5–7%.

According to the data presented, price acceleration continues amid persistent pressure from both domestic demand and global food markets. At the same time, the GDP deflator reached 15.7%, indicating broader price growth in the economy that extends beyond the consumer sector.

Global food price trends remain an additional factor. The FAO Food Price Index stood at 130.1 points in August, remaining above 2023–2024 levels.

The chart shows that after peaking in 2022, global food prices declined, but are once again showing moderate growth in 2025.
