Net inflows of direct investment from EAEU countries into Kyrgyzstan have fallen by two-thirds

At the end of 2025, the net inflow of mutual investment from the Eurasian Economic Union countries into Kyrgyzstan stood at $82.1 million. This is 3.2 times less than the previous year, according to data from the Eurasian Economic Commission.

In 2024, Kyrgyzstan received $263.6 million from its partners in the Union. Consequently, the figure fell by $181.5 million, or by almost 69 per cent, over the course of the year, reaching its lowest level in the last four years. In 2022, the figure stood at $173.2 million, and in 2023 at $183.9 million.

Russia remains Kyrgyzstan’s main investor. In 2025, the net inflow of Russian investment reached $56.3 million – around 69 per cent of the total volume of investment from the EAEU. Kazakhstan contributed $25.6 million, whilst Belarus contributed $400,000. A small net outflow of $200,000 was recorded for investment from Armenia.

The situation changed particularly sharply towards the end of the year. Whilst Kyrgyzstan received $89.6 million from the union’s member states in the third quarter, a net outflow of $89.3 million was recorded in the fourth quarter.

The main reason for this was an outflow of Russian investment amounting to $90.4 million. Small inflows from Kazakhstan and Belarus – $1 million and $100,000 respectively – were unable to offset this.
