06/18/2026, 17:56Ruslan Suynaliev, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Finance, held a meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank, Dr Mohammed Suleiman Al-Jasser, as part of the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Baku.
The parties discussed the financing of Kyrgyzstan’s priority projects in the sectors of energy, transport, healthcare and housing construction. In particular, they discussed the construction of the Kambarata Hydroelectric Power Station-1, the reconstruction of the Bishkek–Torugart motorway on the Kant–Tokmok–Chym-Korgon section, and the construction of a new wing for the Naryn Regional Hospital.
In addition, the Minister of Finance proposed introducing a framework for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Islamic Development Bank, modelled on the instruments used with international financial organisations. According to him, this would speed up the approval and implementation of projects.
The President of the Islamic Development Bank supported the initiative and noted that it could be considered during the preparation of the new Strategy for Cooperation with Kyrgyzstan for 2028–2030.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their intention to expand their partnership and continue implementing joint projects aimed at the country’s socio-economic development.
