06/18/2026, 12:27The ‘Irkeshtam’ and ‘Torugart’ border crossings on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border will temporarily suspend operations due to the celebration of the Duanwu Festival (Dragon Boat Festival) in China.
According to the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan, the ‘Irkeshтам – road’ border crossing will cease processing passengers, vehicles and cargo on 18 June from 22:00 Bishkek time. Operations at the crossing will resume on 20 June at 08:00.
The ‘Torugart – Road’ border crossing point will be closed throughout 19 June and will also resume operations on 20 June at 08:00.
This temporary closure is at the initiative of the Chinese side and is due to public holidays in the People’s Republic of China.
Citizens and hauliers are advised to take these changes into account in advance when planning journeys and freight transport across the Kyrgyz-Chinese border.
