In May, First Deputy Minister of Energy Omurbek Zhenishbekov, together with the management of OJSC ‘NESK’, undertook a working visit to the Issyk-Kul region, where he inspected the progress of energy infrastructure modernisation in Grigorievka, Baktuu-Dolonotu and Zhyrgalan.
The main objective is to prepare the region for the SCO summit and the development of tourism projects, which require a reliable power supply. The works include the construction of new power lines, the upgrading of outdated networks and the increase in substation capacity.
The region is becoming a key venue for international events and tourism, which requires a stable and robust power supply.
In Grigorievka, new lines are being laid using modern SIP cables and old networks are being upgraded. The ‘Dolinka’ substation is being modernised – its capacity will be increased to 80 MVA.
In Zhyrgalan, where the ‘Ala-Too Resort’ tourism cluster is being developed, the ‘Three Peaks’ substation has already been commissioned and new power lines are under construction. These measures are intended to ensure the uninterrupted operation of facilities, including the racecourse used for SCO-level events.
