Taxi drivers will be able to obtain a licence to carry passengers online

A digital licensing system for passenger transport has been launched in Kyrgyzstan. Taxi drivers and transport companies can now apply for a licence online via the ‘MBank’, ‘Eldik’ and ‘Tündük’ mobile apps.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to obtain a licence, applicants must verify their identity, complete an electronic application and attach the necessary documents. Once processed, the licence will be available in digital format directly within the mobile app.

The new system will allow transport operators to obtain a licence without having to visit government offices or submit paper applications.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also reminded the public that, from 1 July 2026, fines will be imposed for providing passenger transport services without a licence. For individuals, the fine will be 7,500 KGS; for legal entities, 23,000 KGS.
