The truck contained 616 kg of lettuce and 60 kg of white onions. However, there was no phytosanitary certificate for these products — a document confirming that the vegetables are safe and free of pests.
Since the import of quarantine products is prohibited without such a document, the cargo was returned to Kazakhstan.
“Without the necessary documents, products with an increased phytosanitary risk will not be allowed into the country,” the department reminded.
