Thus, in the first half of this year alone, 4,050 tonnes of spring seeds were harvested. The number of seed recipients was 2,653, which is twice as many as in 2024. In addition, 12 million 152 thousand seedlings were prepared, which is three times (279.8%) more than last year.
As a result, the volume of seedling imports decreased. Twenty-two new nurseries were also established.
For the first time in the history of independent Kyrgyzstan, 40 tonnes of alfalfa seeds were exported to the Russian Federation and 1.6 tonnes of pumpkin seeds to Japan.
As part of the ‘Development of Seed Production and Nurseries’ project, preferential loans at 3% per annum for a period of 5 years in the amount of 100 million soms were started to be issued to seed production farms and nurseries.
In order to ensure the feed base, a high-yield hybrid of Sudan grass called ‘Sorghum’ is being distributed throughout the country's regions. This plant can produce up to 100 tonnes of green mass per hectare.
