Chicken eggs and vegetable oil led the rise in food prices

Kyrgyzstan has seen a rise in food prices. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the prices of staple foods have risen the most.

The largest price increases were observed for:

  • eggs — by 1.6%
  • refined sunflower oil — by 1%
  • potatoes — by 0.7%
  • lamb (excluding meat) — by 0.5%
  • beef (excluding meat) — by 0.5%

At the same time, a slight decrease was recorded: onions—by 0.5%.

Price growth in Kyrgyzstan remains moderate—for most items, changes do not exceed 1–1.5%. However, the price increase affects socially significant products, which directly impacts the population’s daily expenses.

In neighboring Kazakhstan, price increases were more pronounced. According to monitoring data, the following items saw significant price hikes: lamb—by 12.5%, carrots—by 10.6%, pasta—by 3.5%, and beef—by 3.2%. Moderate price increases were recorded for milk, eggs, rice, and potatoes. Meanwhile, price decreases were observed for onions and wheat flour.
