The Cabinet of Ministers has handed over 117 vehicles to cultural institutions in Kyrgyzstan

Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev took part in a ceremony to hand over 117 official vehicles to cultural institutions.

In his speech, the Prime Minister noted that funding for the cultural sector is increasing annually. While the budget for this sector was 2.8 billion KGS in 2021, it rose to 6.9 billion KGS in 2025, meaning that funding has grown nearly 2.5-fold over the past five years. Last year, 851 million KGS were allocated to strengthen the material and technical base of cultural institutions, and in 2026, 176.9 million KGS were allocated for the purchase of 117 domestically produced vehicles.

“Today, a significant portion of the vehicles on the balance sheets of cultural institutions is outdated and has not been updated for many years. I am confident that the vehicles being transferred will facilitate your work and give new impetus to your activities. These vehicles will serve the people, contribute to the development of culture, the education of the younger generation, and the preservation of our national values”, — said Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.

The Prime Minister also noted that, along with the country’s economic development, funding for the cultural sector will increase annually. At the same time, he emphasized that cultural institutions must strive for profitability and make a greater contribution to funding the sector, and set a number of tasks for the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy.
