The Cabinet of Ministers will gradually increase the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to 482.5 by 2033

The Cabinet of Ministers has amended Resolution No. 264 of 15 November 2021 on the maximum staffing levels of state bodies. The document was signed on 20 February 2026 by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliyev.

The amendments were adopted as part of the implementation of the presidential decree on the establishment of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Egypt and provide for a phased expansion of the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and foreign institutions.

According to the approved schedule, the maximum number of staff at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will increase by two full-time positions each year:

  • from 1 January 2027 – 470.5
  • from 1 January 2028 – 472.5
  • from 1 January 2029 – 474.5
  • from 1 January 2030 – 476.5 KGS
  • from 1 January 2031 – 478.5 KGS
  • from 1 January 2032 – 480.5 KGS
  • from 1 January 2033 – 482.5 KGS

The number of foreign institutions will also grow in stages — from 253.5 in 2027 to 265.5 by 2033.

The distribution structure will remain unchanged: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will comprise a central office, regional and subordinate departments, as well as employees sent abroad by the ministry and personnel hired by foreign institutions.

The resolution will come into force seven days after its official publication. The decision establishes a long-term model for expanding the country's foreign policy presence until 2033.
