The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 300 million KGS to cover interest on loans for SMEs

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a project for preferential lending to small and medium-sized enterprises for 2026. It will be implemented through subsidizing bank interest rates. The relevant order was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliyev.

The project aims to expand business access to long-term and sustainable financial resources on preferential terms, stimulate investment activity, and create and preserve jobs, including in the regions and priority sectors of the economy.

Under the order, the Ministry of Finance is instructed to allocate 300 million KGS from the republican budget for 2026 to subsidize interest rates on preferential loans to small and medium-sized businesses. In addition, the Ministry of Finance is instructed to provide for the financing of the project for subsequent years and to take into account the relevant changes when adjusting the law on the republican budget for the planning period 2027-2028.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, together with participating financial and credit institutions, will ensure annual monitoring of the targeted use of funds and will also evaluate the effectiveness of the project. The results of the analysis must be submitted to the Presidential Administration for review by July 1, 2027.

Financial and credit institutions participating in the project are recommended not to charge commissions and other fees when lending to entrepreneurs under the program.
