08/21/2025, 14:59Kyrgyzstan has imposed a temporary ban on the export of cattle, horses, sheep, and goats. The relevant decree was signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev.
According to the government, the decision was made to ensure food security in the country and stabilize market prices for food products.
The ban is set for six months.
The only exceptions are transit through Kyrgyzstan, horses participating in competitions, and animals donated to foreign countries, international organizations, or individuals.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Customs Service, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, and the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security are responsible for monitoring compliance.
The resolution comes into force on the day of its official publication, which is today.
