Competitive Policy Challenges Discussed at EEF-2025

On 26 June, a panel session dedicated to challenges for antitrust authorities in EAEU countries was held in Minsk as part of the Eurasian Economic Forum. Maksim Yermolovich, Minister for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the EEC, noted that in the context of global changes, new measures are needed to support fair competition and coordination between the countries of the union.

The discussion was attended by representatives of competition authorities from Iran, China, Uzbekistan, as well as experts from UNCTAD and the BRICS International Centre for Competition Law and Policy. Participants shared their experiences of adapting to technological and market changes, including the impact of digitalisation and the transformation of global supply chains.

Following the session, Yermolovich stated that the tasks set had been accomplished and expressed confidence that the results of the discussion would help the EAEU countries develop coordinated approaches to regulation. Representatives of the national antitrust authorities of the union countries also participated in the event.
