Major projects under construction in the Jalal-Abad Region: an airport, a hospital and a secondary school

Bakyt Torobaev, the President’s Special Representative for Special Assignments, has inspected the progress of construction on strategic projects in the Jalal-Abad Region, which are under the special supervision of President Sadyr Zhaparov.

To date, there are no outstanding issues hindering the construction work. Funding is being provided without interruption, and workers’ wages are being paid on time. This, in turn, creates the necessary conditions for the high-quality and timely completion of the construction work.

One of the key projects is the construction of an airport in the Jalal-Abad region, which is a major project in the development of the country’s transport infrastructure. Work is currently underway on the construction of the terminal and the asphalting of the runway. Completion of the terminal is scheduled for autumn 2026, and the airport is due to come into operation in 2027. The implementation of this project will help to expand the region’s investment and tourism potential, as well as improve transport accessibility for the population.

At the same time, construction of the ‘Akylman’ Presidential Lyceum, designed to accommodate 400 students, is proceeding at a rapid pace. The educational complex will be completed in the summer of 2026 and commissioned by the start of the new academic year.

The lyceum will be equipped with a modern sports hall, a swimming pool, student accommodation and staff flats for teachers, enabling it to become one of the country’s leading educational centres.

Another major project is being implemented in the healthcare sector. Construction of a specialist cardiovascular surgical hospital is currently 60% complete. The total cost of the medical facility is 3 billion som, and it is scheduled to open in 2027. The hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and highly qualified specialists will be recruited to work there. As a result, the quality of medical services provided to the population will reach a new level.

Overall, the construction of the airport, the educational complex and the specialist hospital is a testament to a consistent state policy aimed at regional development, improving the quality of education and healthcare, and raising the standard of living for citizens.

These projects will provide a powerful stimulus for the socio-economic development of the Jalal-Abad region and create a solid foundation for further strengthening the region’s potential.
