Kasymaliev noted that delays to cargo at the Union’s internal borders create problems for businesses. In particular, for small-scale agricultural producers, long waiting times can lead to produce spoiling.
According to him, the development of the EAEU’s transport corridors must be accompanied by the removal of physical barriers within the Union.
Kasymaliev also proposed integrating navigation seals, electronic consignment documents, traceability and labelling systems, as well as conformity assessment of goods, into a single digital system. This should make controls more transparent and simplify procedures for businesses.
Separately, the Head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers addressed issues relating to energy and the supply of petroleum products. He thanked partners for timely deliveries and proposed developing a mechanism for information exchange and consultation in the event of a risk of fuel shortages.
Following the meeting, at which more than ten issues were discussed, the EAEU member states approved a number of decisions on the development of integration and common markets.
