Every fourth resident of Kyrgyzstan lives below the poverty line

Every fourth resident of Kyrgyzstan lives below the poverty line. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov during the Republican Conference on Poverty Reduction and Strengthening Social Mobilization, which is taking place on 11 July in Bishkek.

According to him, this situation requires an urgent and coordinated response from all government agencies and civil society institutions. He emphasized that the country's economic growth should bring tangible benefits to all segments of the population, regardless of region and social status.

The conference discusses priority measures to reduce poverty, including the development of education, health care, job creation, support for entrepreneurship, as well as the expansion of employment programs for youth and women.

Special attention is paid to reform of the social support system - with a focus on targeted assistance, digitalization of processes and involvement of local communities in project implementation.

Kyrgyzstan also counts on international support in the implementation of the National Development Program until 2030.
