03/09/2026, 18:22Raids continue in Bishkek to identify vehicles that exceed permissible pollutant emission standards. The latest inspection took place on March 9 and was conducted by inspectors from the Bishkek Regional Department of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service together with officers from the Patrol Police Department.
During the raid, two vehicles were identified whose exhaust emissions exceeded the established standards by more than 50%. Administrative reports were drawn up against the drivers under Article 234 of the Code of Offenses, and the fines imposed amounted to 15,000 KGS each.
At the same time, statistics for the past year show that the problem is systemic. In 2025, out of 472 vehicles inspected, 231 violated environmental standards. In fact, almost every second vehicle inspected received a fine.
The total amount of fines for exceeding vehicle emission standards was 3 million 854.5 KGS. Overall, as part of measures to protect the atmosphere, 260 violations were identified during the year, and the amount of penalties imposed reached 6 million 478 KGS.
