11/04/2026, 12:00China has authorized the import of fresh raspberries, black currants, and blackberries from Kyrgyzstan. This will allow domestic farmers and exporters to enter the Chinese market; however, to ship these products, they must register and comply with phytosanitary requirements.
This decision is based on a protocol on plant quarantine and phytosanitary requirements signed by Kyrgyzstan and China on August 31, 2026. Later, on October 20, the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China published Announcement No. 149, officially authorizing the import of these three types of berries.
For export purposes, the production sites where the berries are grown and the packing facilities must meet the established requirements and be registered by the Chinese authorities.
In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan has urged farmers growing raspberries, currants, and blackberries, as well as owners of packaging facilities, to contact the Department of Plant Protection, Chemical Control, and Quarantine or its regional offices to complete the necessary paperwork.
The Chinese side has expressed its readiness to register enterprises and production sites as soon as possible.
