Kyrgyzstan Prepares for a UK Audit: Will Direct Flights Be Introduced?

The Kyrgyz State Civil Aviation Agency is preparing for an audit by the United Kingdom. The agency’s director, Daniyar Bostanov, requested information on the progress of preparations for the audit.

The audit could mark the next step in efforts to expand Kyrgyzstan’s international air service. However, there is currently no official information on whether it is directly related to plans to launch direct flights between Kyrgyzstan and the United Kingdom.

In June 2026, Kyrgyzstan achieved a significant milestone in aviation safety: the European Commission removed all Kyrgyz airlines from the EU aviation safety list. The country had been on this list since 2006.

The decision lifted the restrictions associated with carriers being on the European safety list and opened the possibility of operating flights to Europe, provided that established safety requirements and admission rules are met.

Attention is now focused on preparing for the British audit. Its results and subsequent decisions by aviation authorities could be significant for the development of air service with the United Kingdom. However, the mere fact that an audit is being conducted does not yet mean that direct flights between the countries will be launched.

No official announcement has been made regarding the timing of a possible route launch or specific plans for direct air service.
