06/06/2026, 10:18Following the official visit of Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin to Kyrgyzstan, the two sides signed a package of documents covering the fields of trade, industry, agriculture, education, culture and inter-regional cooperation.
One of the key outcomes of the talks was the signing of an agreement to establish a Business Council. The new platform is designed to strengthen direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries, facilitate the implementation of joint projects and expand trade and economic cooperation.
In addition, the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus signed an agreement on the mutual recognition and exchange of national driving licences. An agreement was also reached on cooperation between the relevant ministries of the two countries in the fields of labour, social protection and migration.
The parties paid particular attention to the agricultural sector. A memorandum of cooperation in the field of seed production was signed between the ministries of agriculture of the two states, as well as the minutes of the first meeting of the joint Kyrgyz-Belarusian sub-commission on cooperation in the field of agriculture and food.
In the field of technical regulation, an agreement was concluded between the national standardisation and certification organisations of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus, providing for cooperation on conformity assessment and the exchange of information.
The development of digital services and e-commerce will be supported by a memorandum of cooperation between Kyrgyz Post and Belpost.
The parties have also expanded inter-regional cooperation. A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Issyk-Kul Region and the Vitebsk Region of Belarus in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
In the field of education, agreements have been reached between the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn and Brest State University named after A. S. Pushkin.
The package of documents also includes cooperation agreements between the philharmonic societies, museums and cultural institutions of the two countries, aimed at developing joint projects, exchanging exhibitions and strengthening humanitarian ties.
The signed documents mark a further step in expanding Kyrgyz-Belarusian cooperation, both at the intergovernmental level and between business, educational and cultural organisations in the two countries.
