05/03/2026, 12:04Talks and a business forum were held in Hangzhou, attended by a Kyrgyz delegation, aimed at expanding inter-regional and investment cooperation with the Chinese province of Zhejiang. The main focus was on digitalisation, energy, transport and logistics.
As part of a working visit to China by Bakyt Torobaev, Special Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan for Special Assignments, a series of bilateral events took place in Hangzhou aimed at expanding cooperation between the regions of Kyrgyzstan and Zhejiang Province.
On 29 April 2026, he met with Liu Jie, Governor of Zhejiang Province, where the parties discussed deepening inter-regional ties and developing partnerships in the fields of digitalisation, logistics, energy and transport, as well as the possibility of establishing a sister-city relationship between Hangzhou and Osh.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached to organise a return visit by a Zhejiang delegation to Kyrgyzstan, involving major companies including Alibaba and Geely.
On 30 April, a Kyrgyz-Chinese business forum was held in Hangzhou, attended by over 150 companies, where specific investment projects and new areas of cooperation were discussed. Chinese businesses showed great interest in the initiatives put forward by the Kyrgyz side, and the meeting took place in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere, confirming mutual interest in expanding practical cooperation.
