Kyrgyzstan and Oman are considering setting up a joint investment fund

Kyrgyzstan and Oman are discussing the establishment of a Kyrgyz-Omani investment development fund and the attraction of private capital. This was reported by the National Investment Agency on 5 October.

The agency’s head, Ravshanbek Sabirov, met with an Omani delegation led by Sheikh Al-Abbas bin Ibrahim Al-Kharti, Head of the Central Asia Department at the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed cooperation in the energy sector, renewable energy, tourism, agriculture, transport, aviation and digitalisation. Separate discussions focused on direct contacts between investment institutions and businesses in both countries.

To further cooperation, it was proposed that joint investment forums and reciprocal business missions be organised. The parties also agreed to continue working on specific projects of mutual interest.
