Foreign direct investment in Kyrgyzstan rose by 27.3 per cent over the year

The volume of foreign direct investment in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 reached $1.31 billion, an increase of 27.3 per cent compared with 2024. The bulk of the investment was channelled into the manufacturing sector, mining, trade and the financial sector.

Overall, the inflow of foreign investment totalled $8.4 billion — 21.9 per cent more than the previous year. Of this, $1.31 billion was accounted for by direct investment.

Investment in mineral extraction saw the most significant growth – a 2.2-fold increase – whilst investment in manufacturing rose 1.8-fold. At the same time, investment in wholesale and retail trade fell by a factor of 2.2, and investment in financial intermediation and insurance decreased by 21.3 per cent.

Inflows of direct investment from countries outside the CIS increased by 1.7 times. The main growth came from India, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Turkey and China. At the same time, investment from CIS countries fell by 25.2 per cent, mainly due to a reduction in investment from Russia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
