China accounted for almost half of all foreign direct investment in Kyrgyzstan

China became the largest source of foreign direct investment in Kyrgyzstan in 2025, accounting for 47.5 per cent of the total. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

It was followed by Russia with 13.9 per cent of investment, Kazakhstan with 9.3 per cent, Turkey with 9.1 per cent and the Netherlands with 5.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 86.4 per cent of all foreign direct investment went to enterprises in Bishkek and the Chui, Jalal-Abad and Naryn regions.

Compared with 2024, the volume of investment increased in the Jalal-Abad, Naryn, Issyk-Kul, Osh and Chui regions. Compared with 2021, growth was recorded in all regions except the Talas region.
